CHICHOIMAO is a small wood working studio founded in 2019. This Hong Kong based workshop is co-founded by one carpenter and two cats.
The name CHICHOIMAO is the derived from the pronunciation of Cantonese word “自在貓”. We aspire our products can create harmonic and relaxing atmospheres, reflecting the life of our cat founders (Kin Kin & Ar Mei).
Our collection are separated into two lines based on its wood and color:
Kin_ produced by beech or oak or ash
Mei_ produced by black walnut
CHICHOIMAO focus on designing wooden products and small sized furniture that align with modern lifestyles. Each piece is crafted by hand in small batches in Hong Kong, using solid wood and traditional joinery techniques that ensure elegance and durability. We aim for our clients to appreciate the beauty of craftsmanship partnered with a minimalist, timeless aesthetic. Our goal is to create fine wood products that are both functional and affordable. We do both our collections and custom made orders since 2019 summer, and continually showcasing our works through competitions, exhibitions and design fairs.
