‘tracing transitions graphic art’ at the walter knoll stand by 22quadratentrance of the walter knoll booth
the walter knoll stand at imm cologne 2013 stands out from the crowd with its outside walls covered in energetic collections of strokes. osnabrück-based design team 22quadrat has implemented the concept and installation with an aesthetic of line and colour stepped up on the inside: intense collections of lines in vibrant curry give way to bold graphics – seen in iridescent petrol. the composition embraces and intensifies the presentation, as well as offering space for individual interpretation.
‘our figurative’s carry within themselves the memories of [experienced] atmospheric views of products by walter knoll. they create a smooth transition; via the ‘everyday’ into the fantastic. the works evoke thoughts of spatial-architectural situations, interweaving with dynamic ‘bridge notations’, and thus become abstract worlds, ideally activating the beholder’s imagination.’
