parametric pavilion at wroclaw university of technology

the faculty of architecture of technical university of wrocław alongside with labdigifab and jawor design studio, hosted a parametric design workshop that took the task of using physical model assembly to strenghten the understanding of techniques used in design, such as dynamic relaxation, topological optimization, parametric structures of nodes and digital fabrication preparation.

the structural nodes and connections were laid out flat on the grass according to numbering, using white thread and poles marking a coordinate system, all 12 base points were positioned on the ground meanwhile the three main bottom pieces of entire thing became constructed. the assembly was finished after only few hours, which was assisted by clear numbering of all nodes and interactive 3D model with node connections stored on nearby laptops.
