dalshe’s Esthetic Joys Embassy in Armenia

Nestled within a picturesque two-story building wrapped in lush wild grapevines in Armenia, the Esthetic Joys Embassy, designed by Dalshe Architecture Bureau, offers a warm and inviting space for visitors to connect, work, and socialize. Housing two bars, a café, a terrace, and an orchard with a refreshing drinking fountain, the Embassy features a bold color palette complemented by natural stones like marble, tuff, travertine, and granite, infusing the space with depth and vibrancy. The team sought to incorporate flower motifs, a signature part of Esthetic Joys Embassy’s identity, into the architecture, evident in nuanced details such as glazed tiles, ceramics, and carefully selected furniture pieces. The interior design creates an inviting atmosphere for visitors to engage in various cultural events, from art exhibitions and charity chess tournaments to public lectures and social gatherings.

imbuing floral motifs into a bold design

A main challenge faced by Dalshe Architecture Bureau during this project was the preservation and integration of an existing orchard from the building’s past. To breathe new life into this inherited space, the architects introduced enhancements, including additional bushes and perennial flowers. The courtyard area features tabletops carved in daisy shapes and an outdoor fountain made from colorful tuff, travertine, and basalt, which resembles a simplified flower design. The choice of rosy hues for the interior palette was inspired by Yerevan’s nickname, ‘The Pink City,’ owing to its dusty pink tuff buildings. To add contrast, vibrant blue accents were introduced to the otherwise calming interior. Esthetic Joys Embassy represents the architect’s debut project in Armenia, allowing them to explore Yerevan’s culture and architecture while collaborating closely with local builders, bricklayers, and engineers. Meanwhile, the team partnered with TUMO Studios, an educational platform supporting designers, jewelers, and ceramics artists. Fabrics and ceramics for this project were sourced from The Studios’ workshops, showcasing their commitment to local collaborations and community involvement.
