blackout coat rack – studio BAAG
a unique coat rack is made from six solid beams of maple wood, in which the blackened edges literally have been charred to resemble used old matches. it is a sculptural yet functional piece that is equally as beautiful in its natural state, as with hanging coats. the inspiration from a child’s past. a cold winter’s night. a child sits by the fire and watches his grandmother heat the cold house. bundles of used matches clutter the floor, leaving remnants of ash and smoke lingering in the thick air.
