designer's own words:
the sculptural geometry is influenced by the principles of the dada movement and surrealism. using line and form to create a fluid dynamic within the design that manipulates the interaction of light and shadow.
these pieces are to be cast in steel or forged in bronze and polished to reveal the intricate lines and surfaces that play with the light within the space.
the design consists of a back plate and a handle joined by a traditional square pin, allowing standard tooling and mechanisms from existing door handles to be used as components for this elaborate sculptural piece of door furniture .
with the piece measuring approx 120mm in length from the pivot point this design fits within the basic constants for the amount of place within a typical door for the handle.
