Winter Warmer by Arturo Erbsman from france
designer's own words:
This mini campfire consists of a flat candle, a flame guard, and six small copper tubes. Everything fits in a small cloth pouch that rests on a wooden base. Simply light the candle, position the copper tubes over the flame and wait for them to heat up. These are then slid into their fabric cases to take advantage of their heat without burning. These heat pipes have been specially designed to warm hands, but can also be used for feet or any other part of the body. With this simple, but effective device, up to six people can keep themselves warm for several hours. Winter warmer was also thought to promote a social bond. Indeed, the circular shape, the arrangement of sticks, the light and shadow created by the flame encourages people to come together to share a moment of solidarity and warmth.
