weight lever by devin keyes from usa
designer's own words:
in a market dominated by cost/market-price fundamentals, the permanent, excessively built objects become the minority. ideal objects are to be made to last not only the physical parameters of their environment but also retain the perceived value of their investment. the 'weight lever' is made of solid steel with an appropriately strong resistant spring within. the weight and permanence of the lever is felt through the spring's action resisting it's weight when traveling between it's clearly defined extents of movement. the level is made of blackened, dimpled steel in the grab area and brushed stainless steel elsewhere.
