The Process:
The challenge was to make the nest like weaver nest which is a craftsmen by nature. The form itself is so complete that mimicking the nest and its organic form itself was a big challenge. So to make the form i tried, different materials like medical bandage, double side fussing cloth, cottons core, jute, combination of different cords over the different wire frames etc but we didn’t able to get the organic and the flawless natural form.
I choose stainless steel wire mesh of 1mm as the base material to make the basic form of the nest from the exploration. The wire mesh has the property to bend and the process of forming can also be done due to the movement of the wires inside the wire friend. The football was taken to get the spherical form of the nest. We stitched the wire-mesh manually. Then we took 3ply natural fibrous cotton cord, which is radially available in the market. We unleashed the cords and wrapped around the organic form in a circular manner according to the base frame. The cords were then half-cut diagonally in a random manner and the cutting of the thread was spread to get the feel of the nest. For the light we have used yellow light connected with the 2 bulb 60W & 100W respectively in opposite direction in parallel connection of circuit, so that the whole form of the nest can be maid visible when it glows at night. Which is the actual beauty of the product.
During the day time the nest looks like a natural white nest with a birds setting on it and during the night when the light glows it gives a sensational soothing feel of the nature weaver birds nest inside the living space.
