Weather Project by Rui Sasaki from japan
designer's own words:
The work is inspired from the unstable weather in Toyama, Japan through a year.
“Weather Project ” composes a variety of experimental works as series using self-illuminates glass, such as “Weather Chandelier” and “Holding Sunshine.” All works are made by blown glass. “Weather Project” is the vehicle of the visualization of natural light. The bright of the work depends on weather. The glass will be lit up for a few hours after exposed under sunshine if it is sunny outside. The self-illuminated glass absorbs and emits sunshine in the dark without any equipments. Can we move sunshine form here to there? How can we appreciate the subtle light of sunshine under cloudy and rainy days?
The project with self-illuminated glass appears the residue of sunshine by the weather into glass.
