Ustensil for a bouquet
The project was inspired by the japanese tradition of objects made of bamboo, as well as customs and gestures that accompany the floral art of ikebana. Our approach intends to magnify this material linked to artisanale culture very present in Matsuyama through the typology of the vase or a « base for flowers ».
« Ustensil for a bouquet » emphasizes the very act of making the bouquet, this gesture of gathering the stems allowing at the same time to dial plastically the flowers.
Imagined from the finding that the vases we have are often inadequate for bouquet we'd like to put in, we also wanted that this utensil as a tool, allows to compose all kinds of bouquets, regardless are their shape, size, provenance.
We would like to offer the individual a time and a gesture of composing a space, a "pictorial, domestic landscape" to contemplate.
