uccello by odin lapholm from denmark
designer's own words:
Inspired by a bird about to take off, which, as a brief happening, is a demonstration of "light" and "heavy", the design applies a mixture of an old-school doorknob with an uplifting twist.
As such, the design strives to allow the user to subconsciously identify with the product whilst adding a contemporary, light-looking touch-surface atop.
Uccello is Italian for bird, but the sound of the word also reminds one of instruments. And the door handle is exactly that.
