Everything has started some time ago, when I found out that Oakley glasses are the best that I have ever worn. That is why at this point I use them on a daily basis. But as many of You probably knows that even when You try to care about Your precious items it`s not always possible. It was the same with me and my Oakley’s when I forgot some bag or box to put them safely. So how You can imagine they often landed somewhere between keys, telephone and other stuff in my sport bag or in the car. After few times in such company I noticed that my lenses are scratched, so there are two solutions for that: change my absentmindedness or create glasses with safety block for lenses protection.
And it came to me that each lens should be protected, as there is in nature - the most important and indispensable lens of all – eye, has its own protection in the form of eyelids. I started to think how make lenses safe without bag or box, using only the frames. I tried to figure out how we can manipulate the construction to make the frame changeable. I unfolded the glasses to the parts to see all angles of the frame and lenses. Using the angle made by the arms of the frame we can protected the lenses from scratching. It is based on a twist, as I would call it. We can simply twist the arm to the front and put them together in the way we do normally. This way we arrive to the point when my project gets the inspiration – simplicity of nature – lenses and frames – eyes and lids.
