Twig set of door handles by henrique mattar monnerat from brazil
designer's own words:
The inspiration for developing the design concept of our set of door handles came from the observation of the nature of trees and their aesthetics. The growth of tree branches propose interesting solutions of formally intersection where there is a smooth transition between plans and directions.
Our design proposes an organic shape, smooth and split between natural and technological materials, that in the memory of a twig, symbolizes the harmonic coexistence of nature and technology. This aesthetic gesture gives to the product simplicity, a strong presence and allow different decorative formal combinations of materials and colors. We suggest initially the contrast between aluminum (matte or gloss) with bamboo, two sustainable materials but radically different materials.
The touch of the hand in different materials transmit sensations of safety and comfort as the technological part of the product is made of metal and the sensory part of bamboo - a natural material. The bamboo part, pressed and then turned on a Lathe, is an innovative element of the product. All the material are environmentally friendly, offering durability and beauty.
The design solution can be expanded to the glass door handles of different lengths and also allows the inclusion of different types of wood.
