treebranch by maryana grinshpun from usa
designer's own words:
the treebranch door handle seeks to reconsider the traditional doorhandle by pairing strict modern, rectilinear forms with a fluidity inspired by objects found in the natural environment. the project was inspired by a two opposing schools – those of high modernist architects as well the paintings of the pre-raphaelites.
rendered in brushed chrome, the many surfaces of the object reflect a greater amount of light than one expects from a matte object adding to the sophistication of the object. the dimensions of the object were taken from standard sizes produced by colombo, allowing for standardized production and parts.
