Transition of space by yenwen tseng from taiwan
designer's own words:
the action of opening a door is a process of leaving one space and entering another one. door handle is the switch of two environments. I try to translate the "transition of space" on two asymmetric handles as one set to fulfill the sense of touch and mind.
I use the basic horizontal oval shape as a start of door handle to fit our hands, and it gradually transforms into a round shpae when it reaches the door rose; through the door panel, it continues transforming into a vertical oval shape as an end. it fits human's palms as well. two most comfortable shapes meet in the middle two different spaces. they give more dynamic and fresh atmosphere to rooms in a building, also give people a gentle surprise when they put their hands on them.
