this logo focus on the beautiful gesture of actually sketching on your moleskine, which i find is something unique. you can hold a perfect tablet or a modern computer, but nothing can be compared to the act of sketching with a pen or a pencil what's in our heads. when we are on the phone, when we are travelling on the train, when we are at a client's boring brief meeting. these thought are genuine and directly come from our hand and our mind. we literally trace our inspirations. so i stressed it by handwriting the word 'rie', which referes to everything which belongs to the moleskine world, and tracing a line under the whole name. i scanned everything, edited it digitally and finally made the composition. the result is a sum of thoughts for a unique final concept. finally colour palette refers to pastel colors, which reminds of old-fashioned and beautiful chalks.
