designer's own words:

Western microwave oven and toaster are not a must in Cantonese’s life. However, they’re a good compliment to the major Chinese culinary appliances such as rice cooker and fire pan, because Cantonese also enjoy convenient cooking and diverse dinner table. Timia is a combination of microwave oven and toaster, which caters to both western and eastern cooking habits in this region. It comes handy when you want to grasp the local bread and milk while sending the child to school, and it can also automatically detect the weight of the overnight small dish, defrost or reheat it when you’re preparing dinner. The side-opening door with touch button and automatic lift-forward dish is a good news for whoever can’t spare a clear hand for the handle. Besides, it’s so space-saving that small Cantonese kitchens are no longer in a mess.
