designer's own words:

Packaging, a skin for food and many other products, raises my interest because it amazes and astonishes people. New technologies are futuristic and sometimes change your perspective on packaging. There is a ritual of seduction between people and product that prickles all your senses.
After its job is done, packaging disappears almost immediately in the garbage can. Like a fading beauty, it gets dumped and forgotten and only waste remains. And yet its journey isn’t over. There is a long way to go before it is really gone.
With my raising curiosity and a glare to the future I started searching for new materials. Materials who’s journey doesn’t finish on a waste dump. These materials form the basis for innovating textile with durable properties.
In my opinion, the development of new and innovating designs isn’t the final step in the evolution of design. There are materials like biodegradable polymers who needs more research and development.
Innovation is important, nevertheless there are also influences of the past that inspires me to create a poetic and sometimes nostalgic feeling.
All of this resulted in a design for a suitcase witch has a familiar shape and a leathery view. In reality the case is made out of biodegradable felt, which properties are modified therefore creating a case with a strong yet flexible exterior and a soft interior. The shape of the suitcase, I left the tetra pak. This packaging
can be completely flat but quickly be put back into shape.
I love to take you on a tour in a world on the edge between the past and future, cherishing nostalgic feelings.
