tiles made from recycled coffee and tea by nick rawcliffe from uk
designer's own words:
The tiles are made from recycled coffee and tea , bonded with an organic resin.
The coffee gives the tile a deep speckled chocolate colour.
Recycling the coffee eliminates the initial excavation process of conventional tile-making process and saves part of the 30 million tonnes of waste coffee produced in the UK alone from landfill sites...
T-tiles are cast in a 4 square T shape. The tile is easily snapped and arranged to cover any surface (like in a game of tetris). By effectively having 4 tiles in one , a wall is covered much more quickly.
