designer's own words:
my project is based on the idea of: "remembering is living and living is not forgetting the past". the laughing cow has redesigned its logo without losing its vintage brand style during the last ninety years. my proposal is based on using solid lines and geometrical shapes which eliminatethe brand's ordinary look to turn it in a symbol. the geometrical shapes are configured in a way that takes the siluet of a laughing cow and next to it, there is a speech balloon that can be used to indicate any idea or special memory of the brand in these 90 years. the italic typographic looks like melted cheese, which expresses the fresh style and the concept of closeness that have distinguished the brand during the past 90 years.
the production of any of the pieces is silk-screen, using two colors maximum.
andy warhol popularized the campbell’s soup can, marilyn monroe face and coca-cola bottle. pop art did it by taking complex things and turning them into iconic and unforgettable ideas. make the laughing cow an icon is a way of telling by strokes an amazing story that celebrates its ninetieth birthday today.
