The triangle cow by alexis roseillier from france
designer's own words:
my first idea for the laughing cow's 90th anniversary design project was to use the symbols of the brand that come into my mind when i think to the laughing cow: the cow itself and the triangle cheese wrapped in aluminum foil. therefor the goal was to recreate the cow head playing with equal size triangles in an random order, draw the eyes and the mouth in black with half size black triangles in order to keep the "laughing" part of the original symbol.
the contest themes where contemporary, pop, playful and cheeky, the triangles are made of a simple shape with a black contour, each one of these triangles have a different orientation and are never in contact or overlapping themselves.
the name LVQR is shape with the same triangles in order to keep the theme of the main drawing.
it was also request to use only two colors, the black was chosen for the high contrast with the white background. The first project use grey as second color to represent the aluminum foil and increase the contemporary side. The second project use red as second color for the original cow color and increase the pop side.
the two projects were realized with the software Photoshop.
