The scribbled doodled logo by lisa hultengren from usa
designer's own words:
when creating this logo, i started by thinking of the message and the feeling that moleskine has, and what i wanted my logo to represent. when i think of moleskine notebooks, i think of very personalized books that really show what kind of person the owner of the book is. it is not the clean sketches or the ideas that i look at; it is the doodles and the scribbles that are the most interesting. i also wanted to incorporate my own personal style, which is very clean and simple. so, i decided i wanted my logo to look like as if it has been made in a moleskine notebook, scribbled and doodled down right then and there. i choose to work on the logo in adobe illustrator where i could create the right feeling for it. i started by looking at the different types of layers and effects but decided that i didn’t like the way it looked. i then took a new bold sans serif font that i could use as a reference for my continuing work. i chose myriad but have made some changes to the letters' form through my process. to create the right feeling i had to do exactly like the way i was trying to portray, i took the pencil-tool and doodled my way through the letters. by doing this, I could make every letter different and create a big personality to my logo, but still keep it clean and simple.
