the nizam photo seat chair by Aparna from india
designer's own words:
THE NIZAM PHOTO SEAT CHAIR™ is a one- of- a kind, original piece. It acts as a throne- like seat of repose whilst also being a larger – than- life photo frame. The exquisitely hand carved Grade A Teak wood frame offset by the funky faux fur seat make for a truly magnificent, unique piece of furniture. The Nizam Photo Seat Chair™ is a comfortable, sturdy two- seater sofa/ chair. The piece can hold a photograph/ painting, in its back panel, and thus, functions doubly as a picture frame. This piece harks back to the days of old, when larger than life throne- like seating and furniture occupied the Nizams’ ‘Havelis’. Walls were decorated with portraits framed by heavily carved, gilded picture frames. The designer combines these elements to create this gorgeous piece. One look at this chair brings the era of opulence, magnificence and luxury alive. In today’s modern age, we may not live in huge Havelis, but can certainly live the dream by indulging in this opulent piece of furniture!
