the overall logo design depicts the simplicity of moleskine’s legendary notebook, with its two rounded ends at the bottom.
the font, “m”
the font “m”, which represents moleskinerie, is colored black. the black ‘m’ not only represents moleskinerie as a professional company worldwide, but also means an identity that everyone carries and values. in addition, the black “m”, also allows consumers to associate moleskinerie’s handy notebooks as that are being used everyday due to its resistance to dirt and their features of being strong and sturdy.
the half-globe
in addition, the texture of the infinity half globe in the background carries a designer’s sketchy effect which serves to contact the brand to consumers; that moleskinerie’s products are a symbol of tools of creativity that allows consumers to accumulate valuable sources of information, and collect thoughts and ideas.
the design overall
in addition, the black m stands out against the infinity half globe which is used as the background that is slightly arched but no borders; this is to show the endless usage of moleskinerie’s products around the world, as not only an essential product, but also because moleskinerie is a trusted and reliable brand. besides, the illuminated circle in the background contrasts well with the black “m”, highlighting the meaning mole, extracted from “mole”skin. taken together, with the half-globe in the background set as a contrast against the black m, the design serves to represents a strong connection with consumers internationally, which once again, presents moleskinerie as a global brand.
last but not least, the type of the font for the word, moleskinerie, is set below the black font m. this gives an abstract representation of the horizontal rubber bind that is present in moleskinerie’s legendary notebooks as well as serving to accentuate its simplicity in the overall logo design.
