THE HANDLE by nicolo bencini from malta
designer's own words:
the goal was to create a door handle which would lend itself to the same language as that of the door. the first step in accomplishing this was to create a handle which is not separated from the door by the rose and instead to integrate the handle and rose into one pure form. In doing so, the handle was brought closer to the door and the handle's frame which held it in place also concealed the screws.
with the handle lever hugging the door a new gripping system was needed in order to allow easy use. this was done by testing various wooden models of the handle and analyzing which worked best. the final result proved easy to grip in many ways and could be used vertically as well has horizontally (a feature which a standard door handle does not have).
the handle itself is designed to allow for it to be attached to a standard door locking mechanism.
