the fingerprint by ranjani srinivasan from india
designer's own words:
the idea derives its conception from the product introduction that says “moleskine encompasses a family of nomadic objects”... the products are interpreted as “easy-to-carry companions” and the inspiration lies in the act of holding a book. the logo (embossed in brown) at the upper end as shown in the images is an abstraction of a fingerprint: which is symbolic of one’s idiosyncrasies (in reference to customisation: a feature provided by moleskine). the logo is so placed with an intention to integrate a component of tactility to an otherwise visual constitution of graphics (the logo embossed on the smooth leather is so positioned as to remind one of one’s own identity and the product’s while holding it)
