Nowadays in Manhattan apartment towers have been constructed without kitchens. The reason given was that people wouldn't use them. Why? By choice, because people eat outside or get take away food.
The Idea was to develop a kitchen as a piece of furniture for people who don't cook! The target I choose are "Dandy rock" kind of people. Rock because the minimum is just what they want; Dandy because whatever the action, it has to be as elegant as possible.
So the kitchen is reduced to a water source, a microwave oven and a cold compartment.
The micro wave is like a glass bell, it is reminiscent of the bell that the waiter removes from your plate in gastronomic restaurant. The Water fountain is there to provide water to drink, it runs slowly, reminding you how precious it is.
To open the fridge you have to press a button, like the secret compartment of an old desk. There is also some free space that could be useful during for example cocktail parties. The kitchen is a central place, therefore you have access to it on 360°.
