The Clock Tower Chair™ is a one- of- a kind, original piece. This unique chair towers at almost 7 feet height and combines the functionality of a sturdy cupboard with the delicacy of a hand carved miniature. The Clock Tower Chair™ is a comfortable, sturdy chair. It is also a glass- fronted cupboard with 3 solid wood, durable shelves for storage and display, making it a doubly practical, convenient piece of furniture. This piece is inspired by the designer’s love of all things miniature and antique. The exquisite Clock Tower miniature atop the chair is a salvaged antique, lovingly restored to its former glory and placed atop a typical ‘doli’ (cupboard used for food storage) from the same Victorian Era.

Detailing:
The miniature Clock Tower building, which was in disrepair, was extensively repaired and restored to bring it back to its former glory. The cupboard that is also the frame of the chair is made of Grade A Teak wood and has 3 shelves in it. It is glass paneled. A panel above the seat is mirrored to add another interesting element to the piece. The entire piece is hand polished in a rich Mahogany tint. It is upholstered in a patchwork design made of multi coloured Chinese patterned silk to add to the exquisite, antique look of the piece.

The designer plays with form and colour, pushing the boundaries of accepted design norms. She salvages eccentric antique pieces, repurposing them into unique new avatars. Her inspirations are Indian temple art, Victorian Steampunk design, faery-lore and whimsy, amongst others.
