The Chinese door handle

designer's own words:

The idea is basically come from the Chinese character door, which is ‘門’.
As we can see the character can be divided into two parts- the left part and the right part and they are quite similar to each other. Therefore I decided to shape the door handle into such shape and use it in either side of the door. So that if we combine both door handles together, the Chinese character door (門) will be formed.
The door handle:
Different types of Chinese writing can also be found, just like Times New Roman or Arial in English characters. Therefore I decided to have the design based on the traditional Chinese style of writing.

The design is basically modified from the left hand side of the character, the edges are all rounded and I widened the bottom part of the left hand side to form the handle and making it more comfortable to hold on.
