The blink stone

designer's own words:

"The blink stone"
As you walk over the covered stones, each one emits light underfoot as if blinking.
Within the time axis of a vast memory encased in each individual stone, this is the flicker of our lives passing in a fleeting instant. The stones bring about a beautiful experience proving the undoubted connection between you and this world which spreads out before your eyes as a result of the accumulation of an incomprehensible time span.
This work presents the possibilities of a light device not found in existing lifelines, a work which can be achieved even in difficult environments that would otherwise be difficult for exhibition such as outdoors or in water. In doing this, it has become possible to bring about a new scene in spaces where this development would previously have been impossible.

"A completely independent device not requiring an external power source"
The blink stone uses solar light as its energy source, and consists
of a module with the function of storing generated electricity, a sensor which
detects contact with the stone's surface, and a function which lights an LED using minor power
consumption.
In being encased and sealed within resin cast directly from a stone, this module becomes a
completely independent device which not only has water resistance, but also has strong candidacy
due to its durability.

"Versatility"
By modularizing the functions of generating and storing solar energy and of releasing
light from an LED through a sensor, and due to the encasement of this module in a stone made
of resin it is possible to install "the blink Stone" in the same manner as ordinary stones.
Its high level of water resistance not only enables exposure to rain but also washing
with water when dirty, giving it a strong versatility regardless of the installation site.
