The 4 seasons by ladoubleclique from
designer's own words:
Hi all, we are ‘La Double Clique’, a young graphic design studio based in France.
As part of this contest, we wanted to work on a multitude of flowers as well on all the parts that make up a flower such as petals, seeds or stems.
Nature completely changes through the seasons. It dies, freezes and eventually is born again. This is why we chose to focus on the seasons, which has allowed us to deal with several floral worlds.
Nature is something that is particularly highlighted in Japan. We very much liked the special attention given to traditions and nature and we worked on this subject using 3D and virtual composition softwares.
Matsuyama is a city rooted in its cultural legacy, with the presence for instance of its temples and castles. To work with unreal and utopian compositions enabled us to bring something more to the landscape of Matsuyama, especially with the animated posters.
(See the attached YouTube video. There is only the winter poster featured, since it is just a working hypothesis. The idea is to have the four ones corresponding to each season if the desicion is taken to have posters in this format.)
The idea was therefore to promote Matsuyama throughout the seasons using posters and/or flagsdisplayed through the city or in busier places such as the train station.
Poster no.1 / WINTER Realized to be exposed in Matsuyama (in the streets, gardens, public spaces, etc…) during the winter.
Poster no.2 / SPRING Realized to be exposed in Matsuyama (in the streets, gardens, public spaces, etc…) during the spring.
Poster no.3 / SUMMER Realized to be exposed in Matsuyama (in the streets, gardens, public spaces, etc…) during the summer.
Poster no.4 / AUTUMN Realized to be exposed in Matsuyama (in the streets, gardens, public spaces, etc…) during the autumn.
Flag no.1 / SPRING The different compositions realized could be presented on many mediums like flags, walls, screens and it could be exposed in many important & beautiful public spaces in Matsuyama.
Flag no.2 / SPRING The different compositions realized with 3d softwares could be also exposed in big size to show many details of the 3d flowers.
The four seasons can be also presented together at the end of the year.
