teardrop desk

teardrop desk by elizabeth kemp kemp from usa

designer's own words:

Inspired by Apple brand electronics, this desk functions as a workspace while complimenting the tech aesthetic found in gadgets like the iPod--the new symbol of cool. Its straightforward but visually bold geometry is sure to appeal to teens. And the color choices for the work surface are limitless which allows the design to be customized, another quality attractive to teens. It is a desk that can age with the owner; its form may be its appeal at 13, but its more sleek qualities will resonate with older teens. For manufacturing purposes the desk uses few and relatively inexpensive materials (acrylic and steel) and would be easy to mass produce.
