Table N°1 by mia kepenek from switzerland
designer's own words:
A customizable table, allowing different formal and practical possibilities through a number of table-configuration options. The modular design principle underlying the project means that the table can feature different leg shapes and table heights.
The form of the table legs is based on the idea of a spring and comes in three
different options: compressed, half- and fully stretched.
The concept consists of a series of different elements, which can be brought
together in a modular way to form:
* a table with a series of two stacked table legs, which can be used to configure a
dining table ( height 74.5 cm, total of 8 legs ).
* a table with four legs, which can be used to configure a
coffee table ( height 43.5 cm ).
* by combining different leg types an individual formal expression can be achieved
Up until now, there have only been antique, non-configurable tables that have similar forms.
Configurable table-top/ frame tables do not offer a decorative expression.
Now, with this table, there‘s the possibility of combining elements freely to form different shapes,
with the additional freedom of material choice and surface finish –
all to produce two different table types: a dining table and a coffee table.
