spiga by alberto zamarron from spain
designer's own words:
Spiga is a standing lamp made up of a set of thin luminous tubes which emerge from the floor like a wheat field.
The tubes can be switched on independently by means of a high-luminosity LED (one per tube), so light intensity can be adjusted, a specific place can be lighted or dramatic lighting effects can be created.
In addition, it´s an energy saving lamp.
Turn on/turn off the system is a natural gesture. The tubes tilt and bend slightly running the hand over them like in a wheat field, pushing switches below each tube.
As the LED is in the tube base, the tube is hollow so that the light of other tubes can go through it easily.
