SPARO by rajan hakhu from india
designer's own words:
it used to be pleasure, watching them sitting
on window sills,
parapets, electricity cables,
& on tv antennas.there was always
a desire to hold one.
pace & the randomness with which
our cities
have grown throughout
these years, one can see a huge
decline in
their (sparrows)
numbers, in our neigbourhoods.
now there is no window sills or electricity cables
around, as the huge glass boxes & skyscrapers
replaces the small towns & neighbourhoods.
this design gives us the feeling of having
them around in this
concrete jungle,
we are living in.
its a symbolic representation
of the emotion of taking a sparrow in to your hands, & whilereleasing it,
one actually transit from one space to another.
this rosette handle set can be made through the process of gravity die casting
or pressure die casting & the material can be brass with chrome finish.
