Span by bryan metzdorf from usa
designer's own words:
span was conceived of as a "tool" to open doors, and as such was influenced by the clean lines and proportions of everyday tools. because of it's simplicity, and referencing of common, almost universal forms, it is an inherently approachable and comfortable object to use. the ample grip transitions into the base with a small dip allowing for the users thumb to fit where it naturally wants to. the underside of the grip also cuts into the base, allowing a place for the user's thumb to fold under the grip, depending on how they grab the handle. overall span is a simple, comfortable handle, with clean geometry that allows it to easily fit into most architectural settings.
