I saw moleskine as combination of two different styles ;one is clean and minimalistic, practical design of moleskine notebook , and second is much more free,handwritten form. This logo represent unite of those different point of views.
Inspiration for hand-drawn circles have came from natural behavior of people who are drawing simple staffs in notebooks when writing.
