Sierpinski by Sarita Rahman from bangladesh
designer's own words:
a tall building wearing a crystal ice gown.it’s seem like a melting ice on the building surface, tends to leave a slush...
featuring an ‘infiniti digital artwork for a building facade’,the design aptly presented an artwork for a building fenestration.
so many glass pyramids on the facade.very different glass pyramid,a sierpinski tetrahedron.
tetrahedron is chosen as the structural module.the concept facade is structured with a hundred of tetrahedrons, which are very dynamic and eventually creates interesting spaces.develops a new dimensions and perception.the component design is a three dimensional tetrahedron formed by four pursuit agents from the real-time simulation.each component is connected to its neighbours using a truss system, so that every component is structurally supporting each other.dynamic structures aimed to explore the potential for design innovation using stainless steel for trusses and ETFE,Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene for the truss surfaces.the skin of the artwork lends to the creativity and a eye-catching identity.it has it’s own beauty, allows indirect sunlight to filter through to the facades.
sculptural facade gives the feel of happening or changing something.the open-ended design process also helps in limiting explorations of form, which are often influenced by the personal preferences of aesthetics by the designer.
