[Life and Death]
Life and death oppose each other but also goes hand in hand. However, most of the people from any era, consider “death” as a dark and heavy topic. Thus, I believe that we need to change the perception we have on death. Dead person and live person coexist in this universe. If these changes of thoughts are made about “death,” the people who left this world and who are still living can be one another’s energy source.
[Solution]
Very simple yet the best solution is to make a space in our everyday life where we can remember the deceased. Provide a space where a living person and the dead person can sympathize without any problem. A space where a memory about the deceased translates into energy and my movement translate into energy. I am going to make a space where humans give natural energy. A space where all sources combine to awaken the daylight and sunset is as natural.
In this space, kiosks can be installed that operates on green energy such as solar power that operates a system that shows achievements and associated digital content about the buried. Touching is not the only way to remembrance the deceased. By installing the kiosks with the digital contents, anyone at anytime can remember the deceased, not just related person but other people too; they'll have a chance to learn something from the deceased.
By adding digital technology, and removing the constraints of cost or on the ground, the deceased can always be with us. If this is possible, the people who are gone already and the people left behind, can enjoy each other better which will be a start of a new burial culture.
[Design]
The overall design layout is based on the lack of green space. It can be unquestionable that constructing an awesome building on a piece of land is too obvious. In order to make a new culture regarding the dead, we need an open space where everyone can visit easily, just like a park in the city. I want to place memorial kiosks within the park where you can visit the deceased just like going for a picnic.
