OVERVIEW : In today's context, learning and upgrading of skills has become integral part of professional life. We studied usage pattern and user behavior in variety of office and educational establishments to understand the latent needs and offer a product that creates a synergy between the user needs and visual appeal of the interiors. During training sessions the users often stretch their backs & legs, turn around on either sides to twist their backs just to avoid falling asleep on the chair. While writing on a chair’s small desk-let the users often have to compromise on the work space because there is not enough room for keeping their notepad, laptop, phone, wallet, keys, etc on the desk-let. The users often get deep impressions under their elbow due to sharp edges on the periphery of the desk-let. We saw an unsolved problem here and worked to provide best seating solutions for the modern day needs of a training session. The chair would help the user to focus more on the training session rather than worrying about constant discomfort occurring from a product in use.

INSPIRATION : The design journey of Scintilla started with inspiration from the 'mother's hug‘. Mother is considered to be one of the best trainer during the most formative years of a child's growth. The embracing gesture comforts the child and helps in giving confidence and security for a motivating learning experience.The concept revolves around this attribute as an inspiration for creating a comforting, secure and motivational product for scenarios like training and certain other complimenting applications. Profile and contours of the chair reflects the attributes in real form and the comfort is derived from the materials and the features in the product.

USER BENEFIT : As the name suggests one gets a scintillating feel when one sits onto the chair. One of the distinct character of the chair is the generous contours, filleted edges and well rounded corners. This soft form is consistent & carefully designed in all the components of the chair like the seat & back foams, arm-tops and desk platform. This soft formal language of the chair allows it to blend into various types of environments and sets a harmonious visual feel. The plastic components too have fine texture which too adds to the tactile touch experience.

The chair does away with the complex mechanisms for adjustability and in return offers intuitive response to the stimulus provided. The back has got a spring back action which automatically comes to original position when the user comes back to upright posture to ensure constant support in any position. The narrow width at the top of the back allows freedom of movement to the arms of the user sitting for long hours.
 
Today, laptops are designed to last long hours without recharging which has enabled the tutors to teach using laptops in training rooms without the need of providing complex wiring and plug point arrangements. Scintilla has been designed to accommodate the new-age laptops and tabs on its large desk-let surface. The desk-let is designed to provide a large work space to easily accommodate all types of training materials like paper, notepads, pencils, pens, brochures, etc .The bean shaped curve on the inner side of the desk let gives ample comforting space for the user’s abdomen. The smooth and soft contoured edges make sure that the user has a comfortable experience while using the desk-let for reading or writing. The desk-let is designed to avoid shaking while writing which is usually observed in the quarter desk-let chairs.

The surface of the desk-let is smooth textured to aid in taking notes on a single paper without letting the imprint of desk-let appear on the paper. The desk surface is also scratch resistant. The desk let can be tipped up on the sides for easy ingress and egress.

In the desk-let module once the person sits in the chair it engulfs the user from all sides giving him privacy and a secured feeling. The desk-let chair has brake-loaded castors restrict the movement of the chair during sitting and is free to maneuver when not being used.
All the models can be effortlessly stacked horizontally by using the seat tip-up feature for ease of maintenance of the area in use and create open spaces for other activities.
 
The front of the seat has a waterfall edge for popliteal clearance.  Below the seat a generous leg room is provided for free movement of legs.
