sanuk is the name that i choose for this XXL bench concept.
this outdoor/indoor bench is dedicated for those who want to relax and live their lives in peace infact the name in thai language means "enjoy your life".
its particular form represents an ideal bridge between past and future, two very different realities that coexist in harmony in thailand.
to emphasize the concept i decided to make the same form in two different materials. the teak staves represent the tradition and the territory and polyethylene rotational molding represent the contemporary age. the stainless steel structre has the shape of two eyes, the first facing the past ant the second to the future. its mirror polished finish, ideally reflects the society of yesterday and today, showing strengths and weaknesses.
the form designed to have a symbolic meaning in addition also has an ergonomic value. the bench can be used in different positions in indoor and outdoor conditions. the chosen materials are maintenance-free and safety of the bench is guaranteed by milled cast-iron supports.
sanuk is the perfect plax to relax yourself and re-find inner peace. virtues disappeared in contemporary society
