rose door handle by djordje radojcic from serbia

when i first started working on this door handle my idea was to combine traditional and modern handles. i took inspiration from old, curved door handles and modern italian and german design, especially car design. i've tried to combine curved surfaces of sports cars with sharp lines of contemporary furniture.
next thing that came to my mind was "what would interior designers do if they had the option of painting the door handles in the color of their choice?". so i came with the idea of making lever a separate part which bolts onto the cylinder. this way lever can be removed and painted separately. it can be chrome, mat chrome, gold, blue, yellow, it can match the solor of your walls, it can match your furniture, or the color of that red ferrari parked in your garage :) i decided to make cylinder and rose chrome to aid to the elegant look.
i decided to name my entry "rose", as it is in much ways similar to rose flover: it's beutiful, comes in many colors, it's traditional, yet modern - just like a rose.
