road of reminiscence by wjdwjddnjs from korea
designer's own words:
tNowadays, Funeral remained only in the form of a superficial one. funeral culture is sending the dead people and remembering them. so we want to make something for both living people and dead people. and make them think about their relationship and reminiscence.
It is for all people living and the dead. and we considered about the eco. so We designed 2 in 1 product to reduce the process and use eco-friendly meterials. (We thought reducing the process also is an environmentally friendly way.)
The design is divided into two uses. One made by stone, is the time capsule which make people remember. and another made by cork, is the urn that contains a dead person's ashes.
Stone. It was selected stone materials that can be harmonized well with the surrounding environment. Further, it is possible to sufficiently protect the contents in the container tolerated moisture and natural weathering.
Cork.Is a material that is naturally decomposed in the soil. By considering the portions environmental, it is also possible recycling existing cork products.
Using process.
put the remains in the cork container - using time capsule, cover over it - bury it in the ground - Cork and Ashes become natural decomposition, fade away by being absorbed into the soil of nutrients - only the time capsule is left.
people can see memorial things and rememer the dead man whenever they want to meet him. only using the key, put something in that and take it out of that easily.
Further, it becomes possible to also acts like a stepping stone road. and it would be natural.
It would be a good place near people's lives like a park.
