RENAULT FORYOU by von euw mathias from france
designer's own words:
my aim is to evoke the typical proportions of the renault 4 on a modern package.
short nose, big volume for the back and some animations with details such as the lateral windows shape, the front grill or the positiv - negativ surfaces of the bonnet.
the better way to create a car for everybody is to make it simple and let people appropriate themselves the product.
the exterior wears the iconic face, the lateral line and the prominent rear lights.
the rest is seamless without chrome.
the interior keep the same spirit with a central tactile interface wich replaces most of the standard buttons and the tacho. The modular seats give the possibility
to load easily a bicycle, a big dog or a stroller.
people buy the car for its functionality and its aesthetics but also for is low maintenance and the eco friendly aspect.
the chassis gets a small diesel engine which produces electricity. it runs all time at the same speed and permits to be free from boring battery loading and reduces pollution.
the batteries stock the electric energy and give it to the engine wheels. It's not hybrid, it's diesel-electric.
the structure is made of aluminium to be light and recyclable.
batteries are NiZn because it is more recyclable than traditional lead batteries. They are not to expensive and reduce volume and weight.
the body is made of PeHD, a reclycled plastic. industry can mould it to create proper shapes.
It is used also for the interior. Everythings you touch, wear a coat of hemp + sheep wool for isolation.
you don't buy the car, you buy mobility. You rent it for up to 5 years with maintenance.
With electricity there's almost nothing to do. the three cylinders diesel engine runs so low that nothing could happens.
When the car gets back to the dealer, the components could be replaced or changed by better solutions. everybody as the same technical base, it means the dealer can manage stocks
in a more ecological way. the components could be purchased on local.
eventually, everybody could make it his own, customize it (colors or stickers) and enjoy a better mobility.
