“R group” is a group of five design students from Lithuania, and we are bringing our works to light for the very first time.
The main item of all the three works we are sending to the competition is LIGHT. The principle ON/OFF we use in our furniture means not only the turning light on and off, but also an inconstancy of a young person’s temper.

1. ON/OFF POUFFE

The idea was born from the philodendron – a plant with an incredible structure, colour and bionic form. We decided to use the idea of philodendron cavity’s shape and put a light inside. This pouffe has a battery, so you don’t need any wire. It is so easy – just sit down and get a game of light around you!

2. ON/OFF TABLE

The main idea of this table is two “waves” made of elastic non-transparent material, so they can change their position easily and turn the light either on or off. Besides, you can have a place on any side of the table to put same newspapers in. It is so easy – just put your hand on the “wave” and change your surroundings!

3. ON/OFF ROCKING CHAIR

The idea of this chair was born by looking at an ordinary switch. We putted a light inside the chair and used two positions of the switch (on/off). When you sit down on the “ON” side, you turn the light on. And by sitting on the “OFF” side, you turn it off. The chair should be made of a semi-transparent material and the sitting surface is soft. Just sit down and swing on the on/off rocking chair!
