Portal

Portal by Lucy McDowell from uk

designer's own words:

More than 350 million people of all ages suffer from depression. 1 in 4 of those will be young adults who suffer an episode before the age of 24. Many believe there is a link between the deficiency of serotonin, the molecule responsible for
maintaining mood balance, and depression. Sufferers experience many symptoms including restlessness, irrational thoughts and difficultly concentrating.

It is with this in mind that Portal is designed to assist users in achieving their own life goals and dreams. By giving them tasks and a daily endeavour, sufferers can start to take back control day by day. The Portal journal is a method of
recognising and fostering their abilities, interests and dreams.

In the fast pace world that we live in it is important to encourage a daily routine for those more sensitive. This sense of routine can be crucial in recovery. It not only allows them to subtly witness their successful progression but provides a well organised support system for the user, trusted family and friends; thus allowing them to initiate essential conversations concerning emotions and general well being.
