designer's own words:
Marilyn Monroe`s picture was for Andy Warhol, a simple visual code. This code could easily be solved by graphic sinthesis. The hair, the eyes, her lips, could be reduce to simple structures, getting out of context the whole scene. POP LED PORTRAIT goes for it. It main objective is to portray friends, girlfriends, family, pets, common people, famous ones, or everything that can stand in front of it. It takes instant pictures from a VGA camera installed in its center, taking them directly to four LED circuits that would display a pop art version of the captured scene. LED escence as pixel simplifier is unique for the desire effect. Bright Colours combined with LED`s industrial capabilities let us into an innovative instance in the way LEDs can be used with other materials. In this case both LED and circuit were submerged in Acrylic, obtaining a one piece product, finding new paths in the way LEDs can be manufactured. POP LED PORTRAIT is ready to bring joy to modern spaces, all concerned in new ways of seeing live and modern living.
