designer's own words:

The “POMP” table is made of a soft silicon fabric, the surface of which is covered with small “bubbles”. The bubbles are similar to the pixels on the screen of a mobile phone or computer, reflecting the role of digital technology in this day and age where the new generation of teenagers create their own codified language. With a light touch of the finger a contrast creates between the bubbles in the outside with those in the inside, which allows are to write a word or even compose a sign. The most important thing about this table is precisely the interaction between the latter and the user. But in that particular case technology is incorporated in the fabrication, not in its use, as it usually happened. It is immediately apparent how and what the uses of this table are, because after all we have all used or experimented the elastic and plastic of the material, the opposite of pressing a button and not understanding how it works.
