plantage

designer's own words:

"plantage" is a in- situ solar heated radiator.
it is derived and inspired by pot plantages nearly everyone enjoys to have behind large window panes.
like a pot plant, it needs water and light.
it has an absorber unit, formed by artificial "leaves", that collect sunlight and tranform them to heat and store it.
the heat is transferred then to the radiator unit - the transfer being regulated by valves and a thermostate.
"plantage" also uses ionic fluids added to the water that help the "leaves" store the heat efficiently and for longer time.
When the weather is bad, "plantage" still can run as a conventional radiator, therfore it is hybrid.
